Chevron to donate $75,000 to Valley educators

Chevron will donate $75k to San Joaquin Valley school educators through Chevron/ DonorsChoose.org, Double Your Impact Campaign

Thanks to a Double Your Impact campaign offer from DonorsChoose.org and Chevron Corp., beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, science, technology, engineering and math educators (teachers, librarians and counselors) from across the San Joaquin Valley, including those from 49 area school districts, will have an opportunity to receive funding for their classroom projects.

Chevron will contribute up to $75,000 to the San Joaquin Valley area educators through this campaign. Chevron will provide first half of the necessary funding for each classroom project proposed in the school districts below; the rest of the funds will be contributed by other donors in the community, thereby accelerating how quickly teachers will be able to put their projects into motion for students. Area educators can post their projects to the DonorsChoose.org website and residents can donate there as well.

Chevron has partnered with DonorsChoose.org as part of its California Partnership, an initiative to invest in education and economic development in their home state. Under the new initiative, Chevron is expanding its partnerships with nonprofits focused on supporting underserved communities, including relationships with more than 20 new nonprofit partners providing programs for education, entrepreneurs and job training.  For more information on Chevron’s community investment endeavors in California visit: Partnering with California | Chevron
