Get involved in community, whiners

The Whiskey Flat Mayor’s Race is a wonderful way for our local youth to benefit from the funds collected. I felt all three mayors had equally good causes. I was happy to support whomever approached me.

I was actually only approached by one candidate although I made the effort to support two of them.  When I read in the paper about the lack of local businesses support and the lack of newspaper coverage it was upsetting. This same person talked trash about the mayor race as if he were a real politician! Personally I enjoyed the articles written by Jill Thurman. I felt they covered each mayor with witty well-written text. So what if she gave an additional little boost to her favorite Turncoat Chris? Is this holiday not in the name of fun?

Let’s keep it in perspective and act adult-like, setting good examples for our youth especially if the cause is in the name of sports.

Also I would like to extend an invitation to all you whiners out there. Get involved with your community. Stop bad mouthing all that goes on and positively engage yourselves in a task that best suites you. This past Whiskey Flat weekend was short-handed in the volunteer department. Please seriously consider choosing someway to become an active member of your community.  It will make a difference.
