Kern Valley drops two games

It was a tough game for the Lady Broncs when they played Bishop.

The game went back and forth and in the end Kern Valley fell 56-49.

Dolly Anzaldo played an outstanding game, she had a double-double with 21 points and ten steals. She also had five rebounds, two assists and one block. Leah Bishop had two assists.

Tori Barnum had seven rebounds, five points, two steals, one assist and one block, Dorothy Thoman achieved eight rebounds, four points, seven steals, one assist and two blocks.

Savannah Duvall had two rebounds and one steal, Ashley Hampton collected nine rebounds, four points, and one steal, Kayla Harris scored 15 points and had five rebounds, six steals, while Amber Snyder pulled down four rebounds.

Head Coach Don Hazard said, “The team played hard, but they gave up too many fast break baskets and put the Lady Broncos on the free throw line to many times to win the game.”

A few days prior, Kern Valley took on Rosamond. The Lady Roadrunners came into the game undefeated. The final score favored Rosamond 39-31.

The game was close and Rosamond had a two point lead at half time. Midway through the third quarter the Lady Roadrunners went on a short run and Kern Valley wasn’t able to come back.

“I was proud that the team played hard and never gave up,” said Hazard.

Harris finished the game with 12 points, five rebounds, five steals, two assists and one block, Barnum did a great job and pulled down 18 rebounds. She also had seven points, two steals, one assist and two blocks.

Anzaldo had seven points, five rebounds; three steals, one assist and one block, and Bishop had one rebound.

Thoman achieved five rebounds, one assist and one block, Hampton accomplished 14 rebounds and Savannah Duvall had three rebounds.
