California Highway Patrol:

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 7-18-10 at approximately 9:20 a.m., Sandra Howell, 41 of Lake Isabella was driving westbound on Hwy. 178 west of Democrat Hot Springs Rd. when she allowed the right front tire of her Toyota Corolla to drift off of the right road edge. Howell overcorrected her steering towards the left at which time she re-entered the roadway, crossed the westbound traffic lane and began to enter the eastbound traffic lane. Howell then overcorrected her steering back to the right at which time her vehicle ran back off the roadway, across the narrow dirt shoulder and down the steep mountain side. Howell’s vehicle overturned an undetermined number of times before coming to rest on its wheels approximately 250 feet down the mountains below the roadway.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 7-17-10, Jason Ray Stanphill, 36 of Bakersfield was observed driving across the center divider of Hwy 178 east of Delonagha Recreation area. Stanphill then accelerated his pickup truck to 75 mph (55 mph zone) as he drove westbound on Hwy 178. An enforcement stop was made and the subsequent investigation led to the subjects arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 7-16-10 Roy Lee Peaker, 73, of Weldon was traveling eastbound on Bodfish Canyon Rd. approaching a 90 degree right hand turn in the roadway. Peaker failed to notice the turn in the roadway. His vehicle traveled off the roadway striking a small dirt embankment becoming airborne. The front of his vehicle impacted the ground and overturned end over end. The subsequent investigation led to Peaker’s arrest for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 7-17-10 at 8:30 a.m., Michael Swafford, 27, of Bakersfield was riding his 2006 Hysung motorcycle westbound on Hwy 155 near mile post 45 when he allowed his motorcycle to drift off of the right roadway edge as he attempted to negoitate a sharp left curve. Swafford’s motorcycle fell to the ground and began sliding across the dirt shoulder at which time he was fully ejected to the ground.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 7-14-10, Melissa Phillips, 39, of Bakersfield was traveling northbound on McCray Rd. approaching Cook Peak Rd. at a high rate of speed. Philips diverted her attention away from the road allowing her 2005 Chevy Blazer to drift onto the east dirt shoulder. In attempt to redirect her vehicle back onto the roadway, Phillips overcorrected to the left causing the vehicle to overturn.

Sheriff’s Department:

SUSPICION OF SPOUSAL BATTERY: On 7-4-2010, Barbara Jean Cleveland, 50, was arrested in the 4300 block of Kernville Road, in Kernville for spousal battery.

WARRANT ARREST: On 7-8-2010, Donald Gayle Davis, 54, was arrested in the 11000 block of Sierra Way, in Kernville for a warrant charging him with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 7-9-2010, Robert Anthony Smith, 44, was arrested in the 200 block of Bristlecone, in Wofford Heights for resisting arrest, public intoxication, and violation of court order.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 7-9-2010, Mark Eugene Pappas, 58, was arrested in the 2400 block of Mason Ave., in Lake Isabella for possession of controlled substance.

WARRANT ARREST: On 7-9-2010, Timothy Eugene Jones, 45, was arrested in the 8000 block of Main Ave., in Lake Isabella for a warrant charging him with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

SUSPICION OF BATTERY: On 7-10-2010, Mark Lawrence Ellefson, 55, was arrested in the 6400 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella for battery with great bodily injury and public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF BATTERY: On 7-10-2010, Marie Cecelia Ellefson, 53, was arrested in the 6400 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella for battery with great bodily injury, possession of marijuana, and public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 7-10-2010, Foster Lee Reynolds, 60, was arrested in the area of Cypress and East St., in Onyx for public intoxication.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 7-10-2010, John Wayne Edwards, 59, was arrested in the area of Scodie Park, in Onyx for under the influence.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PARAPHERNALIA: On 7-11-2010, Brianna Esprit Smith, 19, was arrested in the 40 block of Verna, in Bodfish for possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

WARRANT ARREST: On 7-12-2010, Richard James Zimmerman, 58, was arrested in the 200 block of Bristlecone, in Wofford Heights for a warrant charging him with making a false criminal report, public intoxication, and failure to appear.

SUSPICION OF SPOUSAL ABUSE: On 7-13-2010, Chastady Frias, 23, was arrested in the 50 block of Sierra Dr., Kernville for spousal abuse.

WARRANT ARREST: On 7-13-2010, David Lloyd Pearson, 45, was arrested in the 4400 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella on a parole violation warrant.
