At last week’s meeting of the Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce, a very good program was given by Mike Ryan, Rick Larson, and Cody Norris of the US Forest Service. They provided an overview of last month’s Bull Fire to those in attendance. The program included maps and handout material. Their presentation was very informative and they answered many questions.

They also thanked the community for their help in communications and helping those who suffered loss of property due to the fire.

At the close of the meeting, the drawing was held for the two-night stay at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Congratulations to Bill Roach of Cedar City, Utah. I would like to extend a very big thank you to all who donated to the Independance Day Weekend fireworks show. Without the support from the entire community, this event would not be possible.

With Valley Fest coming up on Oct. 16, the planning is in high gear. This year’s event will be at the Linda Kissack Ball Field in Lake Isabella. With the location change, also comes the addition of games and activities for the entire family.

Nov. 27 will be the 33rd Annual Lake Isabella Christmas Parade. We are currently looking for a theme to this year’s parade. If you have an idea for a theme, please contact the Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce office at (760) 379-5236 or email office@kernrivervalley.com.

Once again, thank you to all who support the Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce.
