Bakersfield couple arrested in connection with Kern Valley vehicle burglaries

On 8/22/10, deputies from the Kern Valley Substation were dispatched to investigate a burglary to a vehicle parked at French Gulch, near Lake Isabella.

Deputies located Tony Ray Walker, 37, and Brandy Walker, 30, both from Bakersfield hiding in the area of the burglary. During the investigation, property was located for four other victims who were unaware their vehicles had been burglarized.

The Walkers were arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail on four counts of burglary, and conspiracy to commit crime. Brandy Walker was also booked for possession of burglary tools and Tony Ray Walker was booked for violation of parole.

Deputies served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Castaic Ave in Bakersfield and located property belonging to as many as twenty five other victims. Deputies are in the process of identifying these victims.

The Kern Valley Substation would like to remind the public when in the Kern River Canyon or Valley, to please secure your belongings in the trunk of your vehicle.
