Martin’s June Jam raises funds for KVHS Music Department

Published on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 2:09 PM PDT

Kern Valley High School music teacher Jay Jarrett was in for a suprise Friday morning as planners from “Ted Martin’s 5th Annual June Jam” dropped by to make a $1246.14 donation. The “June Jam” was started by local musician Ted Martin, and upon Martin’s death in late-2009, was used as an opportunity to raise money for local music programs. “I had no idea,” said Jarrett, “it’s completely blown me away. I am very grateful, and sincerly appreciative of their contributions to our program.” Above, left to right, KVHS music teacher Jay Jarrett and Principal Dr. Jeannie Brachear, flanked by members of the music program, accept the donation from Andy Dooley, Greta Martin, Gerri Dooley and Jeri Horenstein.
