Spreading the Word

Rex Emerson
Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce

Your Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce has been staying busy this summer. July was very productive in getting the word out about our area.

Members of the chamber attended the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades, in Las Vegas. The original purpose in attending this event was to gain more exposure for the Isabella Lake Fishing Derby.

While gaining that exposure and the possibility of bringing additional sponsorship dollars to our event, we witnessed an overwhelming enthusiasm toward our area.

During the coming months, I expect to see positive results from our trip. I do wish to express my sincerest ‘Thank You’ to Dan Anglin, Elaine Roach, and Fred Roach for all of their hard work and attending this show at their own expense.

The next meeting of the general membership is today, Aug. 11. We will be meeting at El Portal Restaurant, 5500 Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, at noon. We would like to see you there.

As a reminder, we will be holding the drawing for the two-night stay at the South Point Hotel & Casino. Drawing tickets are still available, contact the chamber office for the locations. As always, if you wish to come and talk about your business or organization, we invite you to do so, please contact our office and we will add you to the meetings agenda.

Because seating is limited, we do ask that you RSVP, by phone, (760) 379-5236 or by email, office@kernrivervalley.com. All are welcome to attend.

It’s your Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce that works hard to market our area. It’s because of the support of the membership that makes it possible. For that, I thank the entire membership.
