" I'm hearing the word "sin' inn these posts. Marijuana is illegal because of misguided individuals and their propaganda. It would not be a "sin" were it made legal. Now is the time for a change in the legal status. I know all the arguments against legalization. They don't hold water. Legalize and regulate it the same way alcohol is done. "

" Truth, drug cartels exist today only because drugs are illegal! we don't have alcholol cartels now do we? I personally do not believe all drugs should be legalized but I don't think pot is so bad. anyone who wants it is getting it anyway, it just makes sense to legalize it. I have two children and I hope they make the decision not to use drugs, but if given the choice between marijuana or alcholol I think the pot is safer. no... I know it is !!! "

" The argument for legalizing pot can be made simply by remembering the example set by Prohibition. When alcohol was illegal there was a lot of crime surrounding it. When it became legal, regulated and taxed...not so much. "

" This is stupid---you all know that pot is illegal for a reason...would you have the same drug cartels that are killing hundreds in Mexico living here? That is what would happen--sin begats sin! Remember we are a law abiding nation because without law, we are all criminals! Get real, give some reasonable solutions, not wishful thinking.... "

" Outkast - Unfortunately, sticking to the more public areas and marked trails is probably the best way to be safe. Criminals who want to shoot you would be far off the beaten path. I also agree with Think About It - take the crime out of marijuana, make our forests safer. Plus it can be taxed. I'm sure there would be plenty of revenue coming in. "

" I think we should just make marijuana legal. California will benefit from the tax revenue, drug cartels will be out of business and our forest will be safer and not polluted with trash from these growers!!! "

" Outcast: Only if you are "holding" yourself----no one has to fear law enforcement if they are not in sin themselves! "
