Valley Fitness, located at 6200 Lake Isabella Blvd in Lake Isabella, has announced two new and innovative health programs.

The first is Healthways SilverSneakers program, a fun, energizing program geared for older adults taking control of their health by encouraging physical activity. Health plans throughout the country offer the award-winning program to people eligible for Medicare or to group retirees. SilverSneakers provides a fitness center membership to any participating location across the country.

Benefits include access to conditioning classes and exercise equipment, customized SilverSneakers classes designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance, a specially trained Senior Advisor at the fitness center to introduce you to SilverSneakers and help you get started.

The second program is modeled after NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” Valley Fitness has created their own version of the contest. The cost to sign up for the contest is $30. Contestants will be weighed in at the beginning of the contest and their progress will be monitored on an ongoing basis. The contestant who loses the greatest amount of body fat will be deemed the winner. Great prizes are being awarded to both female and male entries that come in first, second and third place.

Valley Fitness is open Monday-Friday 5:30 a.m.- 8:00 p.m., Saturday 6:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Monthly prices are seniors (age 55+) $25, regular membership $30, couples $55, family of 4 $60, day pass $5, week pass $10.
