Anthony Ingram is six years old and has Leber Congenital Amarosis (LCA), a retinal degenerative disease. His parents Tony and Karrie Ingram noticed something was not right when Anthony was 3 months old and since that time his vision has deteriorated. Today he can still distinguish light from dark, but nothing else. If a cure for this rare disease is not found by the time Ingram reaches the age of 20 the degeneration will be non-reversible.

On Feb. 4, at 8:00 a.m. the Bakersfield Track Club will present a fundraiser (1st annual Anthony’s Seeing is Believing) to benefit the Foundation for Retinal Research at River Walk Park on Stockdale Hwy. in Bakersfield. The event includes a 5k/10k and family walk, drawing prizes, music and breakfast burritos provided by Mark Preston from Sierra Gateway Market. Entry fee for the walk and family walk is $25.
