Meet SNF Supervisor Kevin Elliott Feb. 1

Published on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 11:44 AM PST

A press release from the Director of Recreation and Heritage Resources office in Washington, D.C. notified the public that most HIRA (high impact recreation area) fees will be going away.

But local Forest Service administrators have the final say.

At this point, local officials will only proffer they “may be doing away” with the highly unpopular fees enacted in recent years.

Sequoia National Forest Supervisor Kevin Elliott will attend a luncheon to discuss forest issues on Feb. 1 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Kernville Community Room (next to the Kernville Chamber of Commerce). Deadline to RSVP is Jan. 27.Cost is $8.

" Beware of forked tongue from the new SQF Forest Supervisor. Nothing against him personally, it comes with the job and his boss is watching from Vallejo! "

" As the host who has planned the luncheon in which we will be welcoming the new Forest Supervisor, Kevin Elliott I have two requests. One, please respect our need for you to make a reservaton if you plan to attend. Phone 760-379-0764 or E-mail chuck_white@mchsi.com. Deadline is January 27th for reservations. Second, the purpose of the luncheon is to welcome Kevin Elliott and not to complain about the HIRSa. The Forest Service will be scheduling opportunities for the public to request the fees be lifted, the luncheon is not one of these. So come, welcome Kevin Elliott and don't gripe. "
