Our fish need help

Published on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 12:06 AM PST

A few weeks ago I heard one of our local fish writers propose that a lack of old structure in the lake was a possible cause of a decline in fish numbers and size.  Well, we have a group of people that agree wholehearedly!  If you are a concerned fisherperson and want to make a positive impact on fish habitat we have a solution.

The Fish & Game Habitat Club is meeting on Jan. 7 to improve the habitat in the lake by adding structure (recycled christmas trees).  We intend to plant about 300 trees in areas that have been approved by the USFS.  If you want to help, and improve, the fishing join the F&GHC, Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the boat ramp in Kissack Cove.  It is recommended you bring gloves, wear old clothes, and bring waders if you have them.  For additional info contact me at 760-379-9114.
