California Highway Patrol:

REPORT OF COLLISION:
On 2/2/12, Larry Barton, 60, of Lake Isabella, was driving westbound on Hwy 178 west of Democrat Rd, when he allowed his vehicle to collide with a cow, causing fatal injuries to the animal. Barton and his passenger, Betty Barton, were transported to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield with minor injuries.

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 2/1/12, Nita Wilson, 44, of Onyx was traveling eastbound on Hwy 178 at a high rate of speed when she lost control and crossed onto the westbound lane. Harry Desimas, 62, of San Joaquin, was traveling westbound, when he noticed Wilson’s vehicle directly in his path. Desimas had no time to take evasive action and the front of his car collided with the left rear of Wilson’s vehicle. Desimas and his passenger, Rebecca Desimas, 26, sustained minor injuries.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 2/5/12, David Lee Driggs, 57, of Inyokern, was driving north on Burlando Rd. south of Kernville. He drove to the left of the double yellow center line. An enforcement stop was made and he showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. The subsequent investigation led to his arrest for DUI.

Sheriff’s Department:

No reports received at press time Tuesday.
